The Neolithic causewayed enclosure at Barkhale is one of the largest and was used as a meeting place for rituals, and/or a market. The Bronze Age barrows date between 1800 and 1600 BC. They are now quite low due to ploughing in the past and one was examined in the 1970s. Alex Vincent.
