The monument consists of the remains of a prehistoric chambered
burial cairn.
The cairn is represented by an elongated mound some 40m NW-SE by 10m, with a distinct dip in the centre of the mound. In the NW portion a number of protruding stone slabs represent the remains of a collapsed stalled-type burial chamber. The SE end of the mound has been
disturbed by activity associated with a small ruined croft.
The area to be scheduled contains the chambered cairn and an area on either side in which traces of activities associated with its construction and use may survive. It is sub-rectangular, a maximum of 45m NW-SE by 30m NE-SW and bounded on the NW by the edge of the
shingle beach along the shoreline, as marked in red on the
accompanying map.
