Description

William Burn, designed 1831 for James Buchan. Scots Elizabethan, 2-storey harled with granite dressings, shafted

chimneys. S. front symmetrical, centre projects with gable

and bay-window 2. mullioned windows of 3 light each side with

gablets at 1st; asymmetrical E. (entrance) front with S. bay

window, porch with Tudor doorpiece and shaped gable, circular

conical roofed tower and lower N. wing. Private family wing

at N.E. Simple neo Greek interior, some fine chimney pieces,

a few perhaps from old house.
