Description

The monument consists of a later prehistoric settlement lying along

the face of a S-facing hill. There are two hut circles. Hut 'A'

measures 12m in diameter and probably has a S-facing entrance. There

are traces of subdivisions within this hut. Hut 'B' measures about

8.5m in diameter and probably also has a S-facing entrance. Abutting

on to the E wall of Hut 'B' at a lower level is a platform measuring about 5m N-S by about 4m. In the vicinity of the two huts are a

number of scattered stone clearance heaps from contemporary

cultivation plots.

The area to be scheduled measures about 280m SW-NE by about 270m SE-

NW, to include the round huts, the clearance cairns and an area

around in which traces of activities associated with the occupation

of the settlement will survive, as shown in red on the attached map.
