Description

The monument comprises three enclosures c. 24m in diameter defined by low stony banks c. 0.4m high, with no kerbs or wall faces visible.

It is probable that the monuments have a ceremonial or burial function and date from the Bronze Age. Displaced larger stones suggest that they might be interpreted as stone circles, although they could also be enclosed cemeteries. The monument is being re-scheduled because it was erroneously scheduled as a single stone circle, with an inadequate area protected.

The area to be scheduled measures 130m E-W, by a maximum of 65m N-S, to include the visible remains and an area around them in which features associated with their construction and use may survive, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
