The monument comprises an enclosure dating to the late prehistoric period, revealed as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland, at a height of around 50m OD, and probably represents the remains of a settlement site occupied in the Bronze Age or Iron Age. It is subcircular in shape, measuring approximately 70m from northwest to southeast by around 50m transversely
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular on plan, measuring 100m in diameter, as marked in red upon the accompanying map.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of settlement and economy in the prehistoric period. Its importance is further enhanced by its close proximity to other potentially contemporary monuments.
