The monument comprises an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as a series of cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 35m OD. It consists of a sub-rectangular ditched enclosure, measuring about 30m N-S by 26m, within a ditch about 2m wide. There appears to be an entrance on the W side. The monument lies close to a series of other monuments of apparently later prehistoric date and would appear to form part of this wider settlement pattern.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 60m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of prehistoric settlement and economy. Its importance is increased by its proximity to monuments of potentially contemporary date.
