The monument is a prehistoric burial cairn situated on open moorland. It is on average 8m in diameter and rises to a height of 0.6m. The area to be scheduled is circular and 28m in diameter, centred on the cairn, as delineated in red on the attached plan.

The monument is of national importance as a good example of a small burial cairn which appears to overlie undisturbed remains. It also forms part of a group of such sites in close proximity.
