Description

The monument comprises the remains of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies on a prominent ridge in arable farmland at around 80m OD. It comprises a roughly oval enclosure some 70m NE-SW by about 50m NW-SE, with a ditch approximately 4m wide. There are indications of an original entrance in the NE. The centre of the enclosure has been disturbed by a modern tank and enclosure.

The area to be scheduled encompasses the cropmark enclosure and an area around it in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 90m, excluding the modern constructions at its centre, as marked in red on the accompanying map.
