The monument comprises a ring-ditch house and a palisaded enclosure of later prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 15m OD. The ring-ditch measures about 15m in internal diameter, within a ditch about 1m wide. Some 40m to the WNW there is a circular ditched enclosure measuring about 25m in internal diameter. It has two concentric narrow ditches, about 1m wide and 1m apart, increasing to about 3m apart on the S. There is an entrance on the N. These ditches would have held timber palisades of tightly spaced posts, enclosing a settlement site. It is not clear from the photographic evidence whether the two structures are contemporary.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is sub-rectangular, with maximum dimensions of 90m WNW-ESE by 50m transversely, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
